Energy EfficiencY Tips
Make sure that all fans are clean and as the days get warmer, change the direction to draw air upward.
When possible, use as much natural lighting as you can.
For those of you with pets, you know that they shed frequently in the spring months. Make sure that excess pet hair is cleaned from refrigerator coils and filters.
Open windows at night with the thermostat turned off.
Make sure that appliances are unplugged when they are not being used.
If building a new home, make sure the system you choose meets or exceeds current building and energy codes. Ask if it is an energy star system, does the company have current data to support their product.
